The Acoustical Society of Italy (AIA) and the Organising Committee are delighted to welcome you to the 56th International Congress and Exposition on Noise Control Engineering. From 22 to 25 August 2027, the historic city of Padova will serve as the premier global hub for noise control professionals.
INTER-NOISE 2027 brings together researchers, engineers, and industry specialists to share innovative research and shape the future of sound and vibration control.
Held in the historic city of Padua, on the Venetian mainland, the conference offers a unique context where scientific excellence, industrial innovation, and Italian culture merge. With its prestigious academic tradition, UNESCO World Heritage sites, vibrant city life, and strong ties to the manufacturing heartland of northeastern Italy, Padua offers a stimulating environment for professional exchange and international collaboration.
From the Noises of the Past to the Sounds of the Future
The theme of this year’s congress reflects the evolving role of acoustics in our society. We aim to look beyond traditional noise control to explore how sound can be designed and managed as an essential component of our quality of life.
Technical sessions will address diverse topics, including modelling and simulation, soundscapes, biodiversity, product sound quality, and the vital links between noise control and society.
A Venue Designed for Connection
The congress will be held at the Padova Congress Centre, a modern and versatile venue designed by the renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma.
- Capacity: Accommodates more than 3,300 participants.
- Space: Over 5,400 m² dedicated to lectures, workshops, and networking.
- Exhibition: A central industrial exhibition allows delegates to experience the latest developments in noise and vibration control technologies firsthand.
The event will also feature distinguished plenary lectures, technology demonstrators, workshops, and social highlights, including a gala dinner.
Supporting the Next Generation
Immediately following the main congress (26–27 August 2027), we will host the Summer School for doctoral students and early-career professionals: “Where theory meets practice”. This programme combines advanced academic training with practical industrial insights, specifically designed for doctoral students, researchers, and young industry professionals.
Satellite Event
Following the congress, the Acoustical Society of Croatia (HAD) will organise a satellite event focused on Noise Control and Good Practices in Recreational and Tourist Settings, addressing the management of transport and commercial noise in these environments.
